Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. When it first opened on September 9, 2009, the Dubai Metro was the longest fully automated train system in the world.
The modern Metro system’s 45 stations, 2 depots, and operational control centers were designed by the international architectural firm Aedas.
There are two lines currently being operational with an additional line currently constructed which will reach directly to the Expo 2020 location. These first two lines run underground in the city center and on elevated viaducts. It has a total of 75 kilometers of route length.
