THE DALMA GAS FIELD – ADNOC
An extremely sour gas field called Dalma is situated offshore of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the Persian Gulf’s shallow waters. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC, 60 %), Eni (25 %), Wintershall (10 %), and OMV are all joint owners (5 %).
The project is a centerpiece of ADNOC’s 2030 plan, which aims to provide a sustainable and affordable gas supply for the nation and help it go from being a net gas importer to an exporter of gas.
The Ghasha ultra-sour gas concession, a crucial component of ADNOC’s strategic goal to make the UAE gas self-sufficient, includes the Dalma Gas Development Project as a significant component.
The Arabian basin, where the Dalma gas field is located, is predicted to have several trillion standard cubic feet of recoverable gas.
More than 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas will be produced daily by Dalma and the other fields in the concession, meeting more than 20% of the UAE's gas needs.
The Dalma offshore ultra-sour gas field is 190 kilometres northwest of Abu Dhabi, and its development will unlock the Arabian Basin's potential.
Nine shallow gas and condensate projects, including the Hail, Dalma, and Ghasha projects, will be developed as part of the concession project.
